This project was based on the brief ‘Interdisciplinary Group Project’, with the sub brief ‘Kathmandu, Benefit Mindset’. Kathmandu is wanting people to change their mindsets, from ‘growthism’ to the benefit mindset. They protest, that we as a society have been taught to look through a lens that is now killing us, we have been encouraged over the last 40 years throughout parenting, self-improvement, education, and business models to adopt a “growth mindset”. But now due to the climate emergency and being disconnected from one another it is now time to help/teach/empower people to change their lens, developing into a benefit mindset, with the climate emergency we essentially have 10 years to do so.
The idea is to create a forum where a community of people can share experiences and tips for living with more of a benefit mindset, whilst also including what Kathmandu as a brand can offer. Includes many features for the Summit Club such as fitness tracking, blogs, adventure sports categories with tracks and maps, sustainable checklists, progress rewards, and special events. To make all these features feasible we commenced the idea of an app as a tool.
